Security is one of the most important issues for internet exposed servers yet something most companies ignore until it is too late. Adult Web Server offers a number of different security services for our customers to protect their servers.

Security Auditing

All servers are audited for security holes before being placed onto our network. However, new holes are constantly exposed in operating systems by hackers and security organizations. Other security exposures can occur during normal administrative work undertaken by the customer. Adult Web Server will scan a server every two weeks for any new security holes. The customer will receive a report immediately after a completed scan that will detail security problems as well as walk the customer through ways to fix the problem. Of course, Adult Web Server's security engineers are always available to assist in administering any patches or resolving any security problems.

Managed Firewall Services

Adult Web Server offers a number of different firewall services to meet the needs of our customers. These range from the low-end Netscreen-5 which can handle traffic from several servers up to the heavy duty Netscreen 100. Although Adult Web Server's NOC architecture is extremely well protected, many customers should consider adding managed firewall services for added protection. Although our networks are protected from the outside world, customers are sharing an internal network with thousands of other servers. Adult Web Server's managed firewall service utilizes Netscreen (www.netscreen.com) firewalls and provides day-to-day management of the firewall. The Netscreens have been selected because they are one of the fastest and most secure solutions on the market. In conjunction with our Private Networking services, the customer will receive the highest level of network security possible. Adult Web Server's security team will work with the customer to configure the optimal balance of security and functionality for their environment. For additional redundancy, Adult Web Server can implement dual fail-over firewalls for the ultimate in protection and uptime on the Netscreen 100 product.

Netscreen 5

Integrates firewall, VPN and traffic-shaping functionality all into one box. NetScreen-5's full-featured firewall uses technology based on stateful inspection. The firewall uses custom-built ASIC processors that manage the firewall access policies and encryption algorithms in hardware, making it a much faster option than other solutions. In certain modes, the Netscreens suffer almost no reduction in throughput. The unit only handles 10 Mbps so although our network provides 100 Mbps uplinks, the customer would be functionally reduced to 10 Mbps. In addition, this can only handle 10 concurrent VPN connections. This is a good solution for anyone wanting to add simple protection to one or two servers. More than one server will require the private networking option be added as well. This only has two ports - a trusted port and an untrusted port. Please note that a switch is not included with the Netscreen 5. If you require more than one server be protected, please see our private networking option.

Netscreen 10

A higher performer than the Netscreen-5, this product offers up to 100 concurrent VPN connections but still only provides 10 Mbps connections. The firewall allows 1000 different policies and 4000 concurrent connections. Comes with three ports - trusted, untrusted and a demilitarized zone (DMZ). This is for customers who have more than 1 or two servers but do not need the full 100 Mbps connection that the Netscreen 100 offers.

Netscreen 100

Highest performer on the market. It provides 100 Mbps wire-speed, up to 125,000 concurrent connections and up to 5,000 different access policies. This can also provide load balancing features found in Adult Web Server's load balancing products although it does NOT provide failover capabilities. Provisioned with three 10/100 Mbps ports. This product is ideal for high-bandwidth users and mid to large size server deployments. Please note that 1, 12 port switch is included with the Netscreen 100.

** Our managed firewall service means that our engineers will monitor the customers firewall and we guarantee a response to a "meaningful" security event within 4 hours. Adult Web Server will monitor all managed firewalls and provide up to two policy changes per month after the initial firewall configuration.

Gold Level response is available for an additional charge and means our engineering team will respond to a meaningful security event within 2 hours. This is a response at the firewall level only and will most often entail the blocking of a particular IP address at the firewall level. There is no interaction with the customer server OS or applications.

Please note that customers WILL NOT have access to their firewalls for management purposes when Adult Web Server is managing the firewall.
